The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2012 with the vision of developing the department to promote as a centre of Excellence in R&D, in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and make the students blossom into meritorious and selfdisciplined engineers by easy work. Drawing upon KVM’s tradition of teaching excellence, the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has strengthen with 13 faculty and 240 students works together in an open and collegial atmosphere. As by the CUSAT and KTU curriculum, the Department places equal emphasis on theoretical and experimental in electrical and electronics engineering. Our Mission is to educate students from the local, rural areas and also from all over India. so that they become enlightened individuals, improving the living standards of their families and also drive the innovative concepts into the minds of students and infuse scientific and technical temper in the students and guide them towards research in electrical engineering. The main objective is to provide individual attention to the students and to promote them into a world class quality of education. The Department has initialized the accreditation work, to promote as an accredited institution. The Department has been organizing symposium, Seminars, guest lectures, training programs, conferences and the IEEE Chapter. The Department has well equipped with the state-of-art laboratories and a Seminar hall.

The department is equipped with the state of the art Electrical Machines lab which is provided with various types of DC motors, DC generators, Induction Machines, Synchronous Machines, Auto Transformers and Transformers. The exposure with these machines will give the students a practical insight into the application level.
The Electrical Measurements lab consists of various measurement bridges, oscilloscopes, power supply units, energy meters, watt meters, ammeters, voltmeters, phase - shifting transformers, insulation megger, earth megger, tong tester, rheostats, potentio meters etc.
The Microprocessor lab is provided with Intel Microprocessor 8085, development kits and interfacing circuits.
The Power Electronics Lab has various power supply units, function generators, CRO, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, transformers, trainer kits, Buck - Boost converter kits etc.
The Advanced Electrical Engineering Lab is equipped with AC Servo Motors, Synchro transmitter - receiver units, Magnetic Amplifiers and MiPower, MatLab, MultiSim software facilities.
